About our studio and programs
Why us and what we can aim to bring to you and your family…
Jim Jam Music was born back in 2006, a few years into Kylie’s career as an early childhood music educator. We started as a small studio offering a few classes a week and now in 2018 educate over 300 children per week in their Hornsby Studio and daycare centres around Sydney.
The aim has always been about building CONNECTIONS and COMMUNITY through music education. Your child’s or families experience is so important to us. When you walk into our studio you will be made to feel welcomed and at home in our nurturing space. Every child is treated as an individual and valued for their contribution in whatever capacity. We celebrate and lovingly work with all abilities – music is a universal language and it’s joyous to see families and children from different cultural backgrounds and family units come together and share a love for music. Music and creative arts are not all we deliver…our goal is to make parenting a little bit easier or joyous through education and music play, so much of what we do in our classes can be used at home to create routines, have fun, work those growing brains and also de-stress!
Our Kindermusik program is world renowed and we are one of the largest studios teaching this program in Australia having made their ‘Top Program/Maestro’ for the past 6 years.
We would love you to join us, you won’t look back, every day your child will ask if it’s a ‘Jim Jam Day’.
For a Child’s Brain, Body, Heart & Soul.
There are many things to do with kids – why not make it fun & educational?!
Children thrive on music. It’s one of the best vehicles for learning in early childhood development. Kindermusik takes musical learning to the next level; our curriculum is proven to improve a child’s brain development. And for parents, it’s a fun thing to do with kids!
Psychologists, neuroscientists, and experts in early childhood development have demonstrated that music does more for children than bring them joy; it helps their brain cells make the connections needed for virtually every kind of intelligence. The following research is the bedrock of Kindermusik’s curriculum.
When young children are consistently engaged by music in an age-appropriate, socially accepting environment, they benefit at many levels:
They gain the phonological processing, spoken language, and comprehension skills that are the foundation of reading.
Children build the spatial-temporal and reasoning skills required for math, science, and engineering.
They develop social and emotional skills that are essential for school readiness—like the ability to regulate their responses and relate to others in complex ways.
By moving and dancing to music and playing simple instruments, children improve their gross and fine motor skills.
Activities that encourage freedom within a fun and friendly structure spark their creativity. And of course, they develop a lifelong love of music.
