About Kindermusik®
Kindermusik is a world-wide early childhood music and movement program based on over 30 years of research & development in early childhood education and musical products.
Kindermusik encourages your child to think, feel, move, sing and speak creatively, imaginatively and with every ounce of giggle, wiggle, whisper or shout he or she can muster. Kindermusik is not performance-based so all children can benefit greatly from the classes, whether they are shy or very outgoing children.
Kindermusik's philosophy is founded upon rigorous research and our fundamental beliefs:
- Every parent is the child's most important teacher.
- Every child is musical.
- The home is the most important learning environment.
- Music nurtures a child's cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development.
- Every child should experience the joy, fun and learning which music brings to life.
What happens in class?
The Kindermusik program is divided into four age groups catering for children from birth to 7 years. Each curriculum enables us to focus on activities that are developmentally appropriate for your child. Class activities include lots of singing, circle dancing, story time, movement, quiet time, listening, instrument exploration, finger rhymes and action songs. These activities follow a clear yet flexible class structure, also incorporating a ‘hello' song and a ‘goodbye' song, enabling your child to participate comfortably and confidently. Kindermusik Foundations of Learning (FOLs) are explained along the way to highlight the educational basis behind different activities.
You are your child's most important teacher...
Kindermusik is a parent-focused program. We give you complete support to share music with your child in class and to extend Kindermusik activities at home with your child, even if you do not have any previous experience with music.
Continue the classroom experience at home...
We provide you with a wonderful pack of high quality At Home Materials. These packs differ for each age group and include items such as CDs, story books, activity books, baby journals, nursery banners and simple musical instruments. Using your At Home Materials is a great way to involve other members of your family in your child's Kindermusik experience and has been found to greatly enhance your child's learning and experience back in the KM classroom.
